The stones are likely insoluable salt of calcium, magnesium. A chemical analysis to show presence of these could be easily perform by dissolving in acerbic and using flame photometry. That will only donate you a 'yes or no' answer. A definitive chemical analysis is likely beyond the area of a school lab.

I'm not exactly sure. Never done it. But I know that a tolerant with kidney stones will usually hold crystals of the causitive agent in their urine, so possibly you could look at a sample of the dissolved stone lower than a microscope.

only just put the grounded stone into a slide with a drop of marine and cover it with a coverslip.

calcium oxalates and other forms or crystals can be distinguised by using this method.
