Second, keep moving. A sit-down lifestyle predisposes for hemorrhoids.
Third, don't sit on the john for prolonged period of time. The toilet seat is almost a tourniquet for the vein in that area--long sits on the pot, colossal risk of hemorrhoids.
Simple stuff--and nothing is 100% decisive in preventing hemorrhoids--but these are the big ones.
