how do i convert ng/mL to mg/L?

nano = 10^-9
milli = 10^-3
Your conversion is:
ng/mL * mg / 10^6 ng * 10^3 mL / L
or
(ng/mL) / 1000 = mg/L
http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales.

Hope this help!
multiply the mg/ml by 100
ie. 5mg/ml x 100 = 500mg/L
Nano=10^-9,milli
=10^-3,nano/milli=10^-6,
nano=milli*10^-6
ng/ml=mg*10^-6/l=mg*10^-6/1000.
=mg/l*10^-6*10^-3=mg/l*10^-3
First, you want to divide by 1,000,000 to convert from nanograms to milligrams (1000 to micrograms and another 1000 to milligrams).
Then you have to divide by 1,000 to convert from millliters to liters. But since the mL to L conversion is surrounded by the denominator you have to reverse the operation which mode you have to multiply by 1,000.
With a division by 1,000,000 and a multiplication by 1,000, the come to an end result is a division by 1,000.
ng = 10^-9 g
mg = 10^-3 g
mg/ng = 10^-3 / 10^-9 = 10^6
soooo
(x ng/mL)(10^6 mg /ng) (10^3 ml /L) = 10^9 x mg/L
go to www.google.com
move the decimal 6 places to the moved out (going from small to large).
<------------------------
g .mg.mcg.ng
mg= 10^(-3)
mcg= 10^(-6)
ng= 10^(-9)
I've left out some conversion prefixes to simplify. But as you can see from nano to micro, the decimal moves 3 places to the not here and from micro to milli, the decimal moves 3 places to the left.
1 ng = 0.000001 mg
There are several other methods to attain the same answer.
