Crucifuxion causes a slow suffocation. This is alleviated by the one self crucified by "standing" or extending the legs, though this causes excruciating torment. When the legs are broken, the crucified person can no longer "stand", and the lungs are suffocated.
jesus christ, what a interrogate!
.because of the pain ?!?
Because the soul would be holding there entire body up using here legs, so when that support is gone, the force on there lungs causses destruction. I might be wrong, but hope that awnserd your question.
No, it basically took the fight out of them and kept them from kicking or trying to run.
Because next they can't push themselve up to breathe because their legs are broken. It's complicated. Google crucifixtion.
With the legs broken, the victim cannot support his substance, and his body sags down, supported only by the nail through his wrists. The pectoral muscles become paralyzed, and the intercostal muscles of the rib cage are powerless to act. Air can be drawn into the lungs, but cannot be exhaled. Carbon dioxide builds up within the lungs and in the blood stream.
The create of death is suffocation.
Ouch. scratchy answers :o(
When the person be crucified, nails be put into the palm of the hand and through the foot, forcing the person to support the body counterweight with their foot in charge to take respectively breath, when the legs were broken the soul cant push up the body weight surrounded by order to breathe and would afterwards suffocate.
Suffocation, shock AND blood loss. This is possibly a much greater loss of blood than from the wrists and feet, depending on if the arteries within the legs are severed.
