how do hick-ups arise ? wat is the sibnificant of it?
Hiccups are an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm, the sheet of muscle that seperates your thoracic and abdominal cavities. It's innervated by the phrenic cheek, and when stimulated by neurons in the medulla, it contracts. The bring and significance of this action are unknown second time I checked.
